Heart disease is, like many health problems, best if detected early. Sadly, this isn’t always easy to do, as when mild, our pets tend not to show you signs that would easily be picked up at home.
Heart disease can affect dogs of any breed or age. Regular heart check-ups mean we can detect any changes to your dog’s heart and pick up the disease earlier, before symptoms develop so you can give them as long and as happy a life as possible.
For this reason, during the month of February, we are offering FREE Heart Health Checks with a Registered Veterinary Nurse.
These appointments will include:
- A physical examination, including listening to your pet’s heart - checking for any signs such as a murmur, or an abnormal heart rate or rhythm.
- Checking your pet’s pulse - assessing the pulse strength, rate and rhythm.
- Listening to your pet’s lungs - checking for any crackles, fluid or wheezing.
- A chat about your pet’s activity levels.
- If the nurse picks up any heart signs on this check, we will then arrange a basic screening heart scan for your pet, with a 75% discount.
To qualify for this offer, your pet must be:
- A registered patient of the practice, who has been seen by one of our vets in the last 24 months.
- Not have previously diagnosed heart disease.
If your pet hasn’t been seen by one of our vets within 24 months, please contact the surgery for further information.
